School days . . .

School days, school days,
Dear old golden rule days.
'Readin' and 'ritin' and 'rithmetic,
Taught to the tune of a hick'ry .....

Where does the time go?

I know many of you have asked yourselves that exact question this week as you've sent your kiddo's, many for the first time, off to school. And yeah, it might have been a while, but I definitely remember.

It was tough sending mine to kindergarten too, so I'm right there with you. But I'll never forget the feeling of middle school. I remember feeling like I was literally feeding my children to the wolves. And that, dear friends, was the day that this Mama cried.

But as you can see by the lyrics above, some things have changed. But not really the basics. Who's been school shopping?? I still remember the excitement of shopping for all of the latest and greatest school supplies. Had to have the coolest backpack, the best crayons and the perfect pencils and folders. Couldn't possibly wait for the list to come from the teacher. Oh no, no, no . . . had to get it all before it flew right off that shelf - or heaven forbid - they were to quit making the stuff. :)

Yep, those were the days. And I loved them. Every single one of them.

And now I have 3 grown children, two who are married and one who lives in another state. So as for school this year? Well, my only grandchild, Samantha, is a Senior in high school.

Say WHAT????

Uh, yeah . . . so I ask again . . . where DOES the time go?
